About

Kestrel Point Photo is an independent journal about landscape and nature photography. It collects practical notes on light, composition and fieldcraft, and a gallery of photographs that show what patient work in the field can achieve.

The photographs on this site are not ours. Each one is the work of the photographer named beneath it, published under a Creative Commons licence and credited in full on the photo credits page. The articles are written for this journal.

What we write about

Reading natural light, composing a landscape, photographing water, coasts and forests, and watching wildlife without disturbing it. The journal is the place to start.
